Get a $3000 insulation job for $2100!

Using Federal stimulus money, a brand new program has been introduced in Maine for home energy improvements.  Applicants can receive up to a 30% grant for energy efficiency improvements. This program is designed for middle income households. It applies to multi-family dwellings as well.  The grant can cover insulation and weatherization. For more information follow the following link to mainehomeperformance.org

The program will run out of funding so it is important to get the ball rolling and get an energy auditor to determine your possible savings areas. Then call us for a free estimate on doing the work!

Remember that insulation and weatherization will give you the biggest bang for the buck over heating system improvements or window replacement. It is quite possible to get a gain of 25% just through a $3000 insulation and weatherization job.

The following is taken directly from the Efficiency Maine website.

Tier 1 Incentive: Achieve a minimum of 25% heating and hot water savings and receive an incentive of 30% of total project cost (labor and materials) up to a maximum incentive of $1,500 per dwelling unit.
Tier 2 Incentive: Achieve a minimum of 50% heating and hot water savings and receive an incentive of 50% of total project cost (labor and materials) up to a maximum incentive of $3,000 per dwelling unit.
As you can see this is a very generous program aimed at hard-working Mainers. It will also provide good jobs for regular working people such as weatherization technicians, energy auditors, heating and cooling installers and so on.
